Our client is looking for a Risk & Procurement Advisor to join their team in Morinville, Alberta. This role supports organizational risk management, insurance, and procurement activities. The ideal candidate has public sector experience, knowledge of insurance claims and competitive procurement, strong risk assessment and analytical skills, proficiency in business systems, and excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities:
Manage insurance claims, investigations, documentation, and resolution processes.
Coordinate self-insured and insured claims with internal departments, adjusters, and claimants.
Lead competitive insurance procurement and evaluate coverage, costs, and organizational needs.
Develop risk mitigation strategies, policies, procedures, indemnity clauses, and insurance requirements.
Assess organizational risk exposures and advise stakeholders on emerging risks and mitigation measures.
Support risk management committees, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare claims reports, risk analyses, and recommendations for senior management.
Research industry best practices and coordinate insurance administration, records, and risk tracking.

Experience in public sector risk management, insurance, or procurement.
Knowledge of insurance claims management, investigations, adjuster coordination, and reporting.
Experience with competitive procurement, vendor sourcing, and proposal evaluation.
Understanding of risk assessment, policy interpretation, insurance coverage, and indemnity requirements.
Strong analytical, reporting,



and problem-solving skills with the ability to advise management.
Proficiency in business systems, with knowledge of ERP, accounting, purchase orders, pricing, and vendor management considered an asset.
Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship-management skills.
