Paladin Security is seeking a Full-Time Healthcare Security Officer to join our team at All Saints Hospital in Springhill, Nova Scotia.

In this role, you'll help maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals. From conducting routine patrols and monitoring security systems to responding to emergencies and resolving conflicts, your work will play an essential role in supporting hospital safety.

What You'll Do

As a Healthcare Security Officer, you'll help protect hospital facilities while providing a professional and reassuring security presence.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Conduct regular patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits to maintain a safe and secure environment.

- Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and surveillance equipment to identify suspicious activities or potential safety concerns.

- Control access to hospital facilities and ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.

- Respond promptly and professionally to medical emergencies, fire alarms, security threats, and other urgent situations.

- Assist healthcare professionals during emergencies, evacuations, and security incidents.

- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and hospital staff while providing courteous and professional customer service.





- Use effective verbal de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques to manage challenging situations.

- Prepare accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required security documentation.

- Collaborate with hospital personnel and local law enforcement to coordinate security efforts and maintain a safe environment.

- Enforce hospital policies, including patient and visitor protocols, while maintaining respectful and professional interactions.

- Follow established security procedures and hospital safety protocols.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking professional, reliable individuals who demonstrate sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety.

Requirements:

- High School Diploma or GED.

- Ability to obtain a valid Nova Scotia Security License.

- Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C certification from a CSA-approved provider.

- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

- Ability to provide Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications or complete the required prerequisite training before onboarding.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.

Training & Certification Information

Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications are prerequisites for this position.

Applicants who do not currently hold these certifications may participate in Paladin Security's UOF/MOAB training program before beginning onboarding.

Important: This prerequisite training is unpaid. However,



Paladin Security covers the full cost of training with a six-month commitment to the position and availability.

Schedule & Work Environment

This position follows a rotating 12-hour shift schedule:

- 2 Day Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

- 2 Night Shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

- 4 Days Off

- Rotation repeats.

Candidates must be comfortable working rotating day and overnight shifts, including weekends when they fall within the rotation.
