We're a busy, growing automotive shop specializing in classic cars, hot rods, engine swaps, restorations and custom automotive projects.
We're looking for an experienced, dependable mechanic to join our team part time. This position would suit a retired technician looking to stay hands-on, an experienced mechanic seeking part-time hours, or someone with a strong background in older vehicles who enjoys doing things properly.
Responsibilities
Our projects vary, but typical responsibilities include:
- Assembling chassis and components on classic cars.
- Disassembling, inspecting and rebuilding engines, primarily top-end work.
- Setting ignition timing and adjusting valves on carbureted engines.
- Setting up rear differentials and related driveline components.
- General mechanical work and helping keep projects moving through the shop.
Engine machining and specified bottom-end assembly are outsourced, allowing you to focus on the mechanical work performed in-house.
We're also expanding our capabilities, with custom chassis builds and exhaust fabrication among the projects we're working toward.
Experience
- A competent, experienced mechanic who can work independently.
- Someone comfortable working on older vehicles and carbureted engines.
- A person who takes pride in accurate, detail-oriented work and doesn't cut corners.
- Someone dependable who shows up on time, communicates well and takes responsibility for their work.
- A valid driver's licence, the ability to drive a manual-transmission vehicle, and reliable transportation.
Red Seal certification is preferred but not required. Auto body experience is an asset.
What We Offer
- Part-time hours with some flexibility for the right person.
- A relatively relaxed, hands-on working environment.
- A growing shop investing in its tools, equipment and capabilities.
- A variety of classic-car and custom automotive projects rather than repetitive work.
- The opportunity to contribute to an expanding shop and its future builds.
We're looking for someone who knows their trade, takes pride in quality workmanship and can be trusted to get the job done right.
Join us to turn your passion for cars into a rewarding career! We’re dedicated to fostering a lively work environment where your skills grow every day while delivering top-quality service to our customers’ cherished vehicles.
