Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient procedures
- Assist dentists during examinations and various dental treatments, including fillings, cleanings, and orthodontic procedures
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process
- Manage patient records using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient details, and answering inquiries
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing oral health
- Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming environment and assisting with age-specific procedures
Requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant coursework is highly desirable
- Willingness to learn current skills related to orthodontics, pediatrics, and advanced dental technologies
