We are looking for reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helpers to join our Dairy Queen team in Grande Prairie. The Kitchen Helper assists with food preparation, maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards, and supports daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient service and high-quality food.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist with basic food preparation.
- Assist with cooking and assembling menu items according to Dairy Queen standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as fryers, grills, and other food preparation equipment.
- Wash, peel, cut, and portion food ingredients as needed.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, countertops, and work areas.
- Wash dishes and properly store kitchen supplies.
- Receive, unpack, and organize food deliveries and supplies.
- Store food items properly and follow food safety procedures.
- Monitor food freshness and assist with inventory rotation.
- Dispose of garbage and maintain clean kitchen and storage areas.
- Follow workplace health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Assist other team members during busy periods.
- Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen or food service experience is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to follow food safety and workplace procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
