ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
River Chiropractic is seeking a Registered Physiotherapist (PT) interested in building and operating their practice within a modern chiropractic clinic in Ottawa.
This prospect is designed for a Physiotherapist who wants the independence of managing their own professional practice without taking on the usual fixed costs and administrative workload of operating a clinic independently.
We are looking for a practitioner who values evidence-based patient care, professional independence, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
There is no fixed monthly room rental fee and no requirement to purchase the standard equipment or administrative systems provided by the clinic.
Instead, the Physiotherapist and River Chiropractic will work under a mutually agreed revenue-sharing arrangement based on payments actually collected from patients and insurers.
The specific revenue-sharing structure will be discussed with selected candidates before entering into an agreement.
WHAT RIVER CHIROPRACTIC PROVIDES
We want the practitioner to be able to focus primarily on patient care and growing their practice, while the clinic supports the operational side.
River Chiropractic will provide:
- A private, professional treatment room with the clinic's standard treatment equipment
- Treatment table, linens, towels, computer, Wi-Fi, and clinic systems
- Access to available rehabilitation and therapeutic exercise equipment
- Practice-management software, online booking, and scheduling infrastructure
- Reception, payment processing, and administrative support
- Administrative assistance with eligible insurance billing, receipts, and payment reconciliation
- Clinic operations, cleaning, utilities, and general facility management
- Opportunities for professional collaboration with the clinic's chiropractor and other healthcare practitioners
There is no fixed room rental fee and no required upfront investment in the clinic's standard equipment or systems.
If the Physiotherapist would like additional specialized equipment, rehabilitation technology, or supplies beyond the clinic's standard setup, we are open to discussing those needs together.
COMPENSATION & PRACTICE MODEL
This is not a salaried or hourly position.
Compensation is based on an agreed share of revenue actually collected from the Physiotherapist's patients, rather than simply the amount invoiced.
The arrangement includes:
- No fixed monthly rent
- No standard room-rental payment
- No upfront cost for the standard treatment-room setup
- A revenue-sharing structure mutually agreed upon before the collaboration begins
- Administrative support with patient payments and eligible insurance billing
The Physiotherapist will retain professional independence over their practice, including clinical decision-making, patient assessments, treatment planning, and professional fee structure, subject to applicable professional and regulatory requirements.
SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY
- We are open to both part time and full-time practitioners.
- The Physiotherapist may choose to build a full-time practice at River Chiropractic or maintain a smaller schedule based on their availability and patient bookings.
- Scheduling will be coordinated according to clinic operating hours, practitioner availability, and treatment-room availability.
- We are looking for the right long-term professional relationship rather than imposing a rigid schedule.
PATIENT BASE & PRACTICE GROWTH
Applicants should understand that an established Physiotherapy patient roster is not included with this opportunity.
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for developing their Physiotherapy practice and patient base over time.
River Chiropractic will support this through:
- Clinic administration and patient communication
- Professional clinic and online presence
- Reasonable marketing collaboration
- Cross-disciplinary collaboration within the clinic
- Opportunities to contribute to rehabilitation and recovery programs
- Referrals from the clinic's chiropractor when Physiotherapy is clinically appropriate for the patient
Our goal is to create an environment where Chiropractic and Physiotherapy can complement one another while each practitioner maintains their independent skilled responsibilities and clinical judgment.
Internal referrals are based on patient needs and clinical appropriateness and should not be considered a guaranteed source of patient volume.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive Physiotherapy assessments to evaluate movement, physical function, pain, and musculoskeletal conditions
- Developing individualized, evidence-informed treatment and rehabilitation plans
- Providing appropriate Physiotherapy interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, mobility training, and other treatments within their competence and scope of practice
- Supporting patients with musculoskeletal injuries, mobility limitations, pain management, and functional rehabilitation
- Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans according to clinical findings and patient goals
- Educating patients on injury prevention, movement strategies, rehabilitation exercises, and long-term physical function
- Obtaining informed consent and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Maintaining appropriate communication and follow-up with patients
- Meeting all College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, privacy, recordkeeping, billing, and professional requirements
- Collaborating professionally with the clinic's chiropractor and other healthcare providers when appropriate
- Maintaining professional independence and exercising sound clinical judgment in all patient-care decisions
River Chiropractic will handle much of the operational and administrative workload, while the Physiotherapist remains responsible for the professional and regulatory aspects of their Physiotherapy practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must:
- Be registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) and hold an Independent Practice Certificate of Registration
- Maintain appropriate professional liability insurance meeting CPO requirements
- Be legally entitled to practise Physiotherapy in Ontario
- Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, treatment-planning, and patient-management skills
- Have a solid understanding of musculoskeletal conditions, rehabilitation principles, and evidence-informed Physiotherapy practice
- Demonstrate professional communication and patient-care skills
- Be comfortable practising independently while working collaboratively within a healthcare clinic
- Maintain professional standards relating to documentation, informed consent, privacy, and billing
Experience in private practice, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, manual therapy, sports rehabilitation, or exercise-based treatment is considered an asset.
Both newly registered and experienced Physiotherapists who are authorized for independent practice are encouraged to apply.
