Event Experience Specialist
LightBooth Events Inc. | Part-time, event-based | Winnipeg, MB
About us
LightBooth Events Inc. is the Winnipeg company behind two photo booth companies, LightBooth and Encore Photobooths. LightBooth is our premium, fully managed experience for weddings, corporate events and brand activations, with custom-designed templates, professional DSLR booths and close coordination with venues and planners. Encore Photobooths serves birthdays, graduations and community celebrations with simple packages that clients book online. Both companies run on the same team, equipment and standards, so whichever event you’re working, the goal is the same: a polished experience and a great photo for every guest.
The role
You are the face of the company at every event. You pick up the booth from our storage unit, set it up at the venue, host guests through the event, keep the prints flowing and the line moving, then tear down and return everything the same night. Expect about 1 to 4 events a month, typically 6 to 8 hours each. Some months are busier than others, and we’re growing, so we expect more events ahead. Most events are on weekends, with some weekday evenings and daytime events. Shifts are posted ahead of time and you claim the ones that fit your schedule.
What you’ll do
- Set up and tear down. Load equipment at our storage unit, set up the booth, backdrop, lighting and printer, and leave the space clean when the event wraps.
- Run the tech. Connect and operate iPads, laptops, printers and portable networking gear, run our Booth.Events software, and test the event template before guests arrive.
- Host the experience. Welcome guests, help with props and poses, and keep the energy up for hours at a time.
- Solve problems on the spot. A printer jam or dropped connection mid-event is yours to fix calmly, without the client noticing.
- Work with the room.
Coordinate with the client, venue staff and planners, and follow each event’s work order to the detail.
- Keep the gear event-ready. Help organize our storage unit and maintain and test equipment between events.
- Support corporate contracts. Some shifts are on site for our ongoing corporate clients, beyond one-night events.
What you bring
- A valid driver’s licence, insurance and a reliable vehicle. No truck or van needed - a compact car like a Honda Civic fits a full booth kit.
- Flexible availability, mostly weekends, plus some evenings and daytime events.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, including carrying equipment up stairs at some venues, and to stay on your feet through setup, a full event and teardown.
- Comfort with technology and the instinct to troubleshoot iPads, laptops, printers, software and Wi-Fi before calling for help.
- People skills. You are warm, professional and at ease with guests, from a wedding party to a corporate VP.
- Dependability. You show up on time, follow through, and notice the details others miss.
- An asset: a background or hobby in photography, or experience in events, hospitality or customer service.
