Canadian Metal Fabricators
Mississauga
Compensation and work arrangement will be discussed during the interview, based on the candidate and the responsibilities agreed for the role.
Take ownership of winning business and building lasting customer relationships.
Canadian Metal Fabricators is a B2B sheet metal fabrication shop in Mississauga. We help manufacturers, OEMs, and commercial customers turn project requirements and drawings into fabricated parts and assemblies. Our services include laser cutting, CNC bending, shop welding, sourcing, and coordinated finishing.
We’re looking for someone we can trust to develop new business, follow opportunities through to orders, and keep improving how we sell. You’ll work directly with the owner, with clear goals, support from our team, and room to plan your approach and make decisions within agreed authority.
Honesty, initiative, judgment, and follow-through matter here. We welcome strong candidates who are ready to learn the industry, including those whose potential goes beyond their current job title.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Identify and approach suitable manufacturers, OEMs, contractors, and other businesses that need custom metal fabrication.
- Start conversations by phone, email, and other appropriate channels; ask useful questions and understand the customer’s requirements.
- Gather the information our team needs to quote accurately, including drawings, materials, quantities, finishes, and required dates.
- Coordinate with the team on pricing, technical questions, capacity, and delivery commitments.
- Follow quotations through to a decision, address objections,
negotiate within agreed limits, and ask for the order.
- Build repeat business, develop existing accounts, and reconnect with suitable past customers.
- Keep customer records and the sales pipeline current, with realistic opportunities, clear next steps, and honest forecasts.
- Make transparent handoffs when orders are won and help resolve customer questions.
- Test ways to improve outreach, follow-up, and the customer experience.
HOW YOU WORK
You take initiative. You find opportunities, organize your own work, and follow through without repeated reminders.
You earn trust. You tell the truth about what is happening, raise problems early, and make commitments our team can deliver. When a technical answer is unclear, you get the right information.
You listen and communicate clearly. You understand what matters to the customer and explain our capabilities in practical terms.
You are persistent and willing to learn. You handle rejection professionally, ask for feedback, and improve your approach.
You care about results. You want to win worthwhile work, build recurring relationships, and contribute to a stronger business.
EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-up.
- Confidence starting conversations and asking for business.
- Comfort learning software, working with numbers, and keeping accurate records.
- Curiosity about manufacturing and willingness to learn our processes and capabilities.
- Sales, customer service, construction, or manufacturing experience is helpful. Direct sheet metal experience is an asset, not a requirement. There is no fixed minimum number of years of experience.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Direct access to the owner and support from the people who know the work.
- Clear priorities and regular check-ins, with room to manage your day-to-day approach.
- The opportunity to improve the sales process and take on greater responsibility as you demonstrate results.
Success will be measured through qualified opportunities, orders won, profitable repeat business, and reliable follow-through.
HOW TO APPLY
Apply through Indeed with your résumé and a short answer to this question:
Tell us about a time you created an opportunity, earned someone’s trust, and followed through to a result. What did you personally do, and what happened?
Examples from work, volunteering, school, or your own projects are welcome.
