We are currently looking for a Warehouse Material Handler (Overnight Shift) to join Desco and be part of our dynamic team in our Distribution Centre located at 7550 Tranmere Drive, Mississauga, ON.

SCHEDULE:

Sunday - Thursday (Overnight Shift): 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor, the Material Handler will participate in our warehouse operations and activities during the overnight shift, replenishing picking bays and consolidating warehouse locations to prepare the day shift for success. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The material handler will verify and stock material into the appropriate inventory locations as well as assisting with the loading of trucks and picking of orders when necessary.

Responsibilities

- Using the Raymond Reach Truck, restock picking locations accurately and appropriately.
- Consolidate pallets to help utilize warehouse space effectively.
- Load company vehicles/trucks when all material is ready for delivery ensuring that all material is securely loaded for safe transport when necessary.
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with warehouse and health and safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Night Shift Supervisor.

WHAT YOU OFFER

- Minimum one (1) year experience in a warehouse environment.
- Certified Raymond Reach Truck operator with minimum two (2) years of operating experience.
- Experience with RF Scanners.
- Strong communication skills, with a customer service orientation.
- Positive attitude with a keen interest in learning our business.
- Detailed oriented.

- Excellent organizational and critical thinking ability.
- Excellent computer skills.
