1904 Cannabis is a locally owned cannabis retailer built around knowledge, community, and great customer experiences. We're a small, tight-knit team that takes pride in creating a welcoming, informed, and positive environment for both our customers and our staff.
We're looking for a dependable, self-motivated person to join our Ladysmith team in an on-call capacity.
About the Position
This position is ideal for someone looking for occasional work and who has a flexible schedule. We're looking for someone who can step in when our regular staff are unavailable, whether due to illness, vacation, planned appointments, or other time off.
Shifts will be offered on an as-needed basis. There may be an occasional shift every week or two, with additional opportunities during busy periods or when staff are away. This is a casual, on-call position with no guaranteed weekly hours.
Reliability is especially important in a small team. We need someone who can be counted on when coverage is needed, communicate clearly about their availability, and confidently step in to help keep the store running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and product recommendations.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of cannabis products, producers, and industry trends.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store workplace.
- Follow all store policies and applicable cannabis retail regulations.
- Step in to cover shifts when regular staff are unavailable.

- A self-starter who can work independently and confidently.
- Previous cannabis retail experience or a genuine passion for cannabis and a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- A team player who understands the importance of dependable coverage in a small business.
- A valid BC Selling It Right certificate, or willingness to obtain one before working, as required.
