Duties

- Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using electronic medical records systems to ensure prompt reimbursement
- Verify patient insurance information and update records to facilitate seamless billing processes
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies and resolving discrepancies
- Assist patients with billing inquiries, explaining charges clearly and providing necessary documentation
- Maintain detailed records of all billing activities, adjustments, and payments for audit readiness




- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure proper coding and documentation of procedures and diagnoses using current medical terminology
- Monitor accounts receivable and implement strategies to optimize collection efforts

Experience

- Prior experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is essential for efficient claim processing
- Solid understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical documentation and coding requirements
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
- Effective communication skills for liaising with insurance providers, patients, and team members
