Overview

VIS Mechanical is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Electrical Estimator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their career in the electrical construction industry.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced team members to review construction drawings, prepare material takeoffs, assist with cost estimates, and support the estimating and pre-construction process. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an interest in electrical systems and construction.

Duties

- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Assist with electrical material takeoffs and quantity measurements.
- Help prepare estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and other project costs.
- Request and review pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist with preparing bid packages, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Maintain organized estimating files, spreadsheets, and project documentation.
- Communicate with suppliers, contractors, and internal team members to obtain project information.
- Support senior estimators with bid preparation, cost comparisons, and other estimating duties.




- Identify discrepancies or missing information in drawings and specifications.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

- Some experience or education in electrical construction, estimating, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with Trimble Accubid estimating software is an asset but not required.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, construction drawings, and building plans is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Robust mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Willingness to learn estimating software, industry standards, and construction practices.

Pay: $40,200.00-$78,700.00 per year
