Lifting Stars Veterinary Homecare is seeking a compassionate companion animal veterinarian in Metro Vancouver. Lifting Stars Veterinary Homecare is an established and growing mobile veterinary practice specializing in compassionate at-home quality of life consultation and humane euthanasia.

We help companion animal owners assess and say goodbye to their loved ones in the peace and comfort of their own homes. Our daily appointment number is low compared to general practice. The emotional challenge is significant, but the professional reward is tremendous for the veterinarian who values the human-animal bond and understands the importance of compassionate end-of-life care.

This position allows flexibility in scheduling from two days per week upwards and will allow you to enjoy the work-life balance that comes from a consistent, reduced-hours work schedule. Our practice operates exclusively in beautiful Metro Vancouver.

You are a compassionate, caring individual with exceptional communication skills with clients and with our remote working team

You understand and appreciate the significance of the human-animal bond.

You appreciate that saying goodbye to one’s companion is one of the most difficult yet important days of pet ownership

You care deeply about clients, and you want to use your professional expertise to help guide them in making the best end-of-life decisions for them and their pet

You can commit a minimum of two-three days a week for appointments and have flexibility for occasional after hours and weekend work.

You are comfortable with work-related travel, working independently and remotely





You are physically able to walk on uneven surfaces and lift weights of up to fifty (50) pounds

You are a competent veterinarian with experience in end-of-life decision-making, record keeping and are comfortable with online software tools.

Position Requirements:

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Degree with at least two years of companion animal clinical experience

Professionally licensed with the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia (CVBC)

Have a valid driver’s license (Class 5)

Have your own vehicle that is in positive working order, clean, and able to be used for work purposes; the vehicle MUST have a hatchback or a truck.

Have a personal cell phone that can be used for work purposes

Live in or near Metro Vancouver, BC

Veterinarians that can service Surrey, Langley and Maple Ridge would be an asset
