Position Summary

Waterford Home Building Centre is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious DZ Delivery Driver to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely loading, securing, transporting, and delivering lumber and building materials to residential and commercial job sites. When not completing deliveries, the individual will assist with daily yard operations, including customer service, preparing orders, loading materials, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Operations

- Safely operate company delivery vehicles to transport lumber and building materials to residential and commercial customers.
- Load, secure, and protect materials from weather and damage during transportation.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with transportation and safety regulations.
- Maintain delivery vehicles in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
- Verify delivery orders for accuracy and ensure products are delivered on time and in good condition.
- Safely operate delivery equipment, including boom equipment where qualified.
- Provide qualified and courteous customer service at all delivery locations.

Yard Operations

- Assist customers with locating, selecting, and safely loading building materials.
- Prepare, assemble, and verify customer orders for delivery or pickup.




- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment where trained and authorized.
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, ensuring accurate product quantities.
- Organize lumber, building materials, and inventory to maintain an efficient yard operation.
- Assist with culling lumber, maintaining stock levels, and general yard housekeeping.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lumber shed and yard.
- Complete opening and closing duties as required.
- Follow all company policies and procedures relating to health and safety, loss prevention, and inventory control.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

- Valid Class DZ driver's licence with a clean driving record is required.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience required.
- Boom Operator certification (0–8 tonne Boom Ticket) is considered an asset.
- Previous B-train experience is considered an asset.
- Forklift operating experience is considered an asset.
- Previous experience delivering lumber and building materials is preferred.
- Knowledge of local roads, routes, and surrounding communities.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper load securement.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including regular medium to heavy lifting.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing quality service.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
