Job description

This position is responsible for carrying out requested or directed work tasks by our maintenance manager with limited to no supervision. These responsibilities may include but, not limited to: performing maintenance on facility equipment, structural, housing, and office as needed. Will work in cooperation with growing and production staff to ensure all equipment and operations are working to full potential. As a result of this position, One Floral can continue to operate with assurance that all equipment, working utensils, building and special projects are being maintained in good repair, and we can continue to produce quality products in our facility processes.

Competencies Required:

- 3 + years of maintenance experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook an asset
- Foster a culture of continual improvement
- Superior motivational and organizational skills
- Previous Greenhouse experience considered an asset
- Spanish as a second language considered an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License

Primary Responsibilities:

- Performing repairs on production lines, greenhouse systems- boilers/heat pumps and valves, maintaining equipment in good working order, housing and facility repairs, plumbing and light electrical work – knowledge in this work on asset.
- Completing maintenance log books and keeping documentation up to date.

- All tasks must be performed safely as specified by One Floral processes and procedures
- Knowledge in electrical, painting, plumbing, heating, ventilation, repairing an asset

- Maintain a safe and healthy work setting.
- Recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss.
- Support or complete safety inspections of your department/area and be involved in incident investigation and inspection programs.
- Follow and adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures

Working Conditions:

- Work under extremes of conditions, hot, cold and varying temperatures
- Physical exposure with some physical risk
- Availability of long hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required to meet production needs
- On call for emergencies

Additional Information

- Reports to the Maintenance Manager
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Hours of work: M - F 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, weekends and holidays based on business requirement
- Vacation: 3 weeks of prorated vacation
