Pipeline Machinery International (PLM) is looking for a full-time Heavy Equipment Technician. This position will assess and performs repairs and service of machines and attachments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform detailed inspections.
- Think critically while diagnosing a variety of failures.
- Perform routine maintenance.
- Make timely parts orders.
- Complete repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and shop.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of heavy equipment repair experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, powertrain systems.
- Ability to follow directions and use deductive reasoning to complete assigned tasks.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Good computer and writing skills.
- Must own appropriate tooling.
- Ability to work overtime during the week or weekends, as necessary.
- Perform all duties safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Promote safe work practices by wearing required personal protective equipment.
PREFERED ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Experience with Caterpillar service information databases.
- Operation or maintenance training in Caterpillar equipment.
- Advanced technical systems experience.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment configurations and attachments.
