MWB CONTRACTING INC. is seeking a PERMANENT FULL-TIME WELDER to join our growing team.

SALARY RANGE: $30-$52 / hour

MWB CONTRACTING is a highly reputable company that provides mobile and offsite repairs and maintenance services to the Mining, Forestry and Trucking Industry in the Timmins and surrounding areas and remote locations.

DUTIES

- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Setting up components for welding according to specifications
- Aligning components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- Welding components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Repairing machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Inspecting welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to prepare parts that must be welded and/or to fabricate parts required
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS





- Applicant must reside near or within Timmins (or be willing to relocate to Timmins at their own cost) *Please note that this position does not include camp work. All work is done locally.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
- CWB Certified (all positions) or equivalent experience
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, Flux core, stick etc.)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Secondary High School Certificate
- Valid G Driver’s License
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings and work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to carry out complex mathematical calculations
- Ability to travel to remote work site and perform under extreme conditions such as inclement weather, when required
- Flexible work schedule; weekend, shift work, overtime
- Physical abilities, math skills and attention to details
