DriveXpert Driving School is seeking a qualified and motivated Driving Instructor to join our team on a part-time basis, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time position.

Who We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate is an experienced driving instructor who already holds a valid driving instructor's license through an approved Nova Scotia program and is interested in increasing their earnings by taking on additional driving lessons with a flexible schedule-There are no restrictions on being registered as a driving instructor with multiple driving schools in Nova Scotia.

We also welcome applications from retired driving instructors or former instructors who are interested in returning to the profession and may need to renew or reinstate their instructor's license.

Candidates who are completing or are willing to complete the 10-day Driving Instructor Training Course are welcome to apply. Please note that this is currently a part-time position.

Training and Support

At DriveXpert, we are passionate about sharing knowledge, teaching practical driving techniques, and helping students become confident, capable, and safe drivers. We believe that effective driving instruction goes beyond passing a road test — it is about developing lifelong safe driving habits.

We provide Comprehensive internal training, ongoing education, and continuous professional development to support our instructors and maintain high standards of instruction.

Full Administrative Support -school office handles all student bookings, scheduling, and customer service, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality driving instruction.

Job Types:

Permanent, Part-time

Pay: Starting at $20.00–$24.00/hr, depending on relevant experience and qualifications. Wage increases may be considered during annual reviews based on punctuality, job performance, and overall contribution to the team.

Paid Lunch Break: Although commute time and travel between lessons are unpaid, we offer 1 hour of paid lunch time for each day you complete 7 hours of driving instructional hours.

Expected hours: up to 30 hr/week with the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time position up to 50 hr/week

Schedule:

- 5 weekdays through Monday to Friday
- Some weekend might be required
- Holidays

Language Requirements:

- Strong English communication skills, with clear and articulate verbal expression.
- Russian and/or Ukrainian language skills are considered an asset.

Qualifications and Experience:

- License: minimum class 5 license (no N or R permitted)
- 5+ years driving experience in Canada
- Has a driving instructor's license from approved NS program

- Have not within 10 years before your application for an instructor’s license, been convicted of: an offence under subsection 97(1) or Section 100, 101 or 163 of the Act, or, an unpardoned offence against a person or a sexual offense under the Criminal Code (Canada), or within 10 years before your application for an instructor license, had your driver’s license suspended, cancelled or revoked under Section 278 or subsection 282(6) or 283(6) of the Act
