Schedule: 7:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m., working three shifts one week and four shifts the following week, with rotating days off.

About the Opportunity

CygniSoft Staffing is recruiting a dependable Night Security Guard for a client in the food manufacturing industry. This role supports the safety and security of the client’s facilities, employees, visitors, and company assets during overnight hours.

Position Summary

The Night Security Guard monitors facility access, conducts interior and exterior patrols, responds to incidents, and maintains accurate security records. Responsibilities also include patrolling in a company vehicle, monitoring truck yard activity, and reporting safety and security concerns to management.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols on foot and in an assigned company vehicle.
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, access control systems, and entry and exit points.
- Verify identification of visitors, contractors, and truck drivers, and maintain accurate sign-in and sign-out records.
- Monitor and document overnight staff entry and exit times.
- Respond promptly to suspicious activity, security breaches, alarms, and emergencies.
- Complete building lock-up checks and confirm doors, gates, and other access points are secure.
- Monitor truck arrivals, departures, and trailer parking.
- Verify trailer and seal numbers to support shipment integrity.
- Inspect fire exits, lighting, and other areas for hazards, reporting concerns promptly.
- Enforce site rules, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Prepare accurate incident reports, nightly activity logs,



and shift-handover notes.
- Assist management, law enforcement, and emergency responders when required.
- Follow food safety procedures and perform other assigned duties supporting facility safety and security.

Required Qualifications

- Previous security or related experience.
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Experience using CCTV, access control, or alarm systems.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Basic computer skills for logging activities and preparing reports.
- Sound judgment, situational awareness, and conflict-management skills.
- Customer service and de-escalation experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout overnight shifts.
- Availability to work the rotating overnight schedule.

Work Setting and Physical Requirements

- Overnight work with limited staff onsite.
- Indoor and outdoor patrols in varying weather conditions.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and patrolling.
- Ability to respond promptly during emergencies.
- Ability to lift or move items weighing 25–40 lbs when required.
- Occasional interaction with emergency responders, law enforcement, and members of the public.

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
