We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in their own homes. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and instructions
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living space
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Monitor health status, report changes or concerns promptly, and coordinate with healthcare professionals as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living,
home care, or nursing home environments preferred
- Solid background in patient care, senior care, hospice care or working with individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of dementia care and experience supporting clients with cognitive impairments is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients with mobility or transfers
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate attitude towards clients of all ages and backgrounds
- Valid certification in medication administration or willingness to obtain required training
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends if needed
