Nova Home Heating is a locally owned and operated heating company looking for a skilled and dependable Oil Heat Systems Technician to join our growing team.

We are seeking a Red Seal Certified Oil Heat Systems Technician or a 3rd/4th Year Apprentice who takes pride in quality workmanship, provides excellent customer service, and enjoys working in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential oil-fired heating systems, including furnaces, boilers, burners, and associated controls.
- Perform annual preventative maintenance and cleaning of oil heating equipment.
- Work as part of our installation team, assisting with the installation and replacement of oil-fired furnaces, boilers, oil tanks, water heaters, and related heating equipment. Responsibilities also include the safe removal and disposal of existing heating systems, oil tanks, and associated equipment.
- Inspect and test heating systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
- Identify potential equipment issues and recommend necessary repairs or preventative maintenance.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed.
- Communicate professionally with customers, explaining repairs,



maintenance requirements, and recommendations.
- Follow all applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and installation codes.
- Participate in a rotating after-hours emergency on-call schedule.Qualifications & Requirements
- Red Seal Certification in Oil Heat Systems OR registered 3rd/4th Year Oil Heat Systems Apprentice.
- Experience servicing, troubleshooting, and installing residential oil-fired heating equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of oil burners, boilers, furnaces, controls, and associated heating components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Solid communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, organized, and committed to quality workmanship.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Willingness to participate in scheduled after-hours emergency service rotation.
