About the Role
Nova Staffing is seeking reliable and hardworking individuals for a Commercial Cleaner / General Labourer position. This role involves travelling to customer locations throughout Nova Scotia to perform commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning, grease management services, and other industrial cleaning projects.
This is primarily a night shift position; however, start times may vary depending on project schedules. Some shifts may begin in the afternoon and continue into the evening or overnight. Flexibility with scheduling is required.
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable with physically demanding, hands-on work and enjoys being part of a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain commercial kitchen exhaust systems, ranges, and related equipment
- Clean grease traps and remove grease buildup from commercial facilities
- Assist with industrial and deep-cleaning projects
- Safely operate cleaning equipment and tools
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
- Travel with the crew to customer locations throughout Nova Scotia
- Complete general labour and cleaning duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces
- Comfortable working in dirty, greasy, and industrial environments
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work flexible start times and night shifts consistently
- Willingness to travel throughout Nova Scotia during the workweek
- Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions
- Previous labour, industrial cleaning, or commercial cleaning experience is considered an asset
Required PPE
- CSA-approved steel-toe boots (mandatory)
