Great Planners Deserve Great Opportunities. This Might Be Yours.
Are you the kind of financial planner who genuinely loves the complexity of the work?
The intricate corporate structures. The challenging retirement projections. The tax and estate planning considerations. The business owners whose personal and corporate finances are deeply intertwined.
And perhaps most importantly, the meaningful conversations that help clients make some of the biggest decisions of their lives.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
At ECIVDA Financial Planning Boutique, we're experiencing exceptional growth and looking for an accomplished CFP® or QAFP® professional to join our dedicated fee-for-service financial planning team.
This isn't a traditional financial advisor position.
No prospecting. No requirement to build a book of business. No product sales quotas.
It's an opportunity to focus on what you do best: delivering exceptional financial planning advice.
Who We Are
ECIVDA is an established, growing Canadian financial planning boutique built around a simple philosophy:
Values First. Planning First. People Always.
We believe great financial advice starts with understanding people, not products.
Our approach to "turning advice inside out" challenges the traditional financial services model. We begin with our clients' values, aspirations, and priorities, then work backward to build the financial strategies that support them.
Our clients include high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, incorporated professionals, business owners, and retirees across Canada.
Our team of 12 professionals works closely with an affiliated office in Vancouver, bringing together a dedicated financial planning team and our own investment management team.
We're proud of our history, our reputation for exceptional client service, and the collaborative culture we've built.
And we're growing.
The Opportunity: Do the Work You Love.
We're expanding our dedicated fee-for-service planning team to meet rapidly growing demand for sophisticated, personalized financial advice.
This is a 100% financial planning-focused role. You won't be expected to prospect, gather assets, build a book of business, or meet product sales targets.
Instead, you'll collaborate with experienced advisory, planning, and investment management professionals, working with an established and growing client base on some of the most interesting financial planning situations in Canada.
Your work will include:
- Advanced financial planning: Developing comprehensive, integrated financial plans for high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and business owners.
- Complex retirement and income planning: Modelling retirement scenarios, decumulation strategies, pension decisions, tax-efficient withdrawals, and long-term wealth sustainability.
- Corporate and owner-manager planning: Understanding corporate structures, compensation strategies, investment holding companies, succession considerations, and the integration of personal and corporate wealth.
- Tax and estate planning: Identifying planning opportunities, evaluating tax implications, and collaborating with accountants, lawyers, and other professional advisors.
- Meaningful client engagement: Participating in client meetings,
asking thoughtful questions, listening carefully, and translating complex analysis into clear, actionable advice.
- Collaborative problem-solving: Working alongside our dedicated financial planning and investment management teams to deliver thoughtful, technically sound recommendations.
You'll have the opportunity to work with Canadians from coast to coast to coast, across a broad range of industries, professions, family structures, and financial circumstances.
No two financial plans are quite the same. And that's exactly what makes the work interesting.
Who We're Looking For
We're not simply looking for someone who can produce a financial plan.
We're looking for someone who thinks like a planner, communicates like an advisor, and genuinely cares about the people behind the numbers.
Our ideal candidate brings:
- CFP® designation preferred; QAFP® minimum, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Meaningful professional experience preparing and delivering comprehensive financial plans, ideally involving affluent individuals, incorporated professionals, or business owners.
- Strong technical proficiency in retirement income planning, personal and corporate taxation, estate planning, cash flow modelling, and wealth management strategies.
- The analytical confidence to work through sophisticated planning scenarios, challenge assumptions, and develop thoughtful recommendations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple complex planning engagements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to make complicated financial concepts understandable and relevant.
- Strong listening skills, emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and an appreciation for the human side of financial planning.
- A collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, personal accountability, and a genuine commitment to excellence.
Experience with advanced planning software and integrated financial modelling is an asset.
Above all, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their craft. Someone who is never satisfied with simply checking the boxes and who finds genuine satisfaction in delivering exceptional work.
