Canadian Metal Fabricators

Mississauga

Take ownership. Keep projects moving. Help build a better business.

Canadian Metal Fabricators is a custom sheet metal fabrication business in Mississauga. We are hiring someone to take ownership of the customer and vendor coordination that gets our projects ready for production.

You will work directly with the owner and closely with our production lead: gathering the right information, following up on commitments, solving problems, and making sure everyone knows what happens next. As you learn our products, processes, and costs, you will grow into estimating and quoting.

We care about honesty, initiative, sound judgment, and pride in doing excellent work. We welcome people with strong transferable abilities and the drive to learn our industry.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

- Organize incoming project requests, drawings, specifications, quantities, deadlines, and open questions.
- Communicate with customers to clarify requirements, confirm next steps, and keep them informed.
- Coordinate with suppliers and outside service providers on pricing, availability, lead times, and deliveries.
- Keep project records current, including drawing revisions, decisions, changes, and outstanding commitments.
- Work with our production lead to prepare complete handoffs and confirm realistic project timing.
- Follow through on issues, raise risks early, and help resolve delays before they become bigger problems.
- Identify recurring problems and improve the way we organize, communicate, and manage work.
- Build the fabrication and costing knowledge needed to prepare accurate estimates and customer quotes over time.

HOW WE WORK

Our owner believes in giving capable people meaningful responsibility and room to run their area well. We will agree on priorities, decision-making authority, and what success looks like. You will have support and feedback, along with the freedom to take initiative and improve how things work.

As you demonstrate good judgment and results, your responsibility can grow.

Your ideas and improvements will have a direct effect on the business.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Follow-through: you keep your commitments and close outstanding items without repeated reminders.
- Honesty: you communicate problems early, take responsibility for mistakes, and help put them right.
- Initiative: you notice missing information or a stalled task and take the next sensible step.
- Organization: you can keep several projects and deadlines moving without losing important details.
- Clear communication: you ask helpful questions, listen carefully, and confirm expectations.
- Curiosity and judgment: you learn quickly and know when to act independently and when to ask for help.
- Comfort with numbers, email, spreadsheets, and learning new systems.

Experience in manufacturing, purchasing, customer service, project coordination, or metal fabrication is helpful. Direct industry experience and a specific degree are not required. You should be willing to learn fabrication drawings, materials, processes, and costs.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Customers get clear answers. Vendor commitments are tracked. Production receives complete information. Problems are raised early, and the same avoidable issues happen less often because you help improve the process.

HOW TO APPLY

Apply through Indeed with your résumé and a short example of something you took ownership of and improved. Tell us what you personally did and how you knew it worked. Examples from work, school, volunteering, or your own projects are welcome.

We are hiring for a current opening.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

Application question(s):

- Tell us about something you took ownership of and improved. What did you personally do, and how did you know it worked? Examples from work, school, volunteering, or personal projects are welcome.
- A supplier misses a promised update, and a customer's deadline may be at risk. What would you do next, and what would you communicate to the customer and your team?
