Job Details

We are seeking a bodyperson/prepper to add to our team. Our body shop offers a dynamic environment which works on everything from buses, trucks, RV's, emergency response vehicles and specialty projects. The work runs from collision repair through full refurbishments and repaints. This is a great environment for those who enjoy variety!

You will be working steel, aluminum and fibreglass/composite panels in the same week. Work is done from written estimates and repair orders, and your repairs are documented against them.

Key Responsibilities — Body Repair

· Perform structural and cosmetic autobody repairs on heavy trucks, buses and RV's, including dent removal, panel straightening and panel replacement.

· Repair and replace fibreglass and composite panels, skirts, caps and fender flares.

· Panel bonding and re-gluing, including prepping bond surfaces and clamping/fixturing panels while adhesive cures.

· Filler work and block sanding to get panels straight and true before primer.

· Rust repair — cut out, patch, treat and seal.

· Remove and install trim, mouldings, lights, handles, bumpers, decals and hardware, including glass-adjacent trim and seals.

· Small bracket and tab welding is an asset.

· Work from written estimates and repair orders, and flag supplements or hidden damage as soon as you find it.

Key Responsibilities — Paint Prep

· Full surface prep for paint — DA sanding, hand sanding, scuffing and feather-edging repair areas.

· Degrease and final wipe-down so panels go into the booth clean.

· Apply epoxy and high-build primers, guide coat, and block out to a flat finish.

· Seam sealing and caulking to factory appearance.

· Masking full-size vehicles for single panels, blends and full repaints.

· Prep and stage units for paint and assist with pull-out and de-masking after bake.

· Paint mixing and spray application knowledge is an asset — there is room to grow into the gun here.

· Keep the prep bay, booth and mix room clean, stocked and organized.

Key Responsibilities — General

· Use a full range of hand and air tools to perform precise and detailed work.

· Collaborate with other technicians, painters and the assembly line to ensure timely and efficient completion of jobs.

· Adhere to safety protocols and maintain clean, organized work areas.

· Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Qualifications

· Licensed in autobody repair 310B preferred. Experienced preppers and registered apprentices will also be considered.

· Heavy truck and bus repair an asset!

· Fibreglass and composite panel repair experience an asset.

· Knowledge of painting techniques and autobody repair methods.

· Comfortable working off written estimates and repair orders.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Good communication skills.

· Valid driver's license.

· Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
