Mountain Home Services is looking for reliable, hardworking Snow Removal Technicians / Hand Shovellers / Sidewalk Clearing Staff to join our team for the upcoming winter season.

We are currently accepting applications in anticipation of the winter season. Snow operations typically run from November 1 to March 15, depending on weather and snow conditions.

We are hiring in:

- Kelowna
- West Kelowna
- Lake Country
- Armstrong

There may also be opportunities to continue working with us year-round in landscape maintenance and irrigation.

About the Position

This is a weather-dependent, on-call position. Team members may be called out when winter events occur, including evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.

We are looking for applicants who are reliable, responsive, physically fit, and comfortable working outdoors in winter conditions.

Core Staff

Core Staff members are assigned a specific snow route and are responsible for that route throughout the winter season.

Core Staff are expected to:

- Be available for the duration of the winter season, approximately November 1 to March 15
- Commit to a minimum of 7 full availability time slots
- Be available to complete 8-hour shifts
- Be available for at least 3 shifts per week
- Maintain consistent availability for their assigned shifts
- Respond to weather-related call-outs as required

Responsibilities

- Remove snow from properties using shovels and other equipment, depending on experience and skill level
- Transparent sidewalks, walkways, entrances, and other designated areas
- Apply salt and/or de-icing materials as required




- Follow assigned snow routes and company procedures
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Work independently or as part of a team
- Follow directions and complete assigned tasks efficiently
- Respond to call-outs and be available during winter events
- Complete required site information using company apps

Requirements

- Reliable vehicle and transportation
- Cell phone with reliable access
- No other work or personal obligations that would interfere with your availability during the winter season
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in cold and winter weather
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding physical work
- Proper winter clothing and appropriate winter boots
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and assigned routes
- Reliable and dependable attendance
- Willingness to work flexible hours based on weather conditions
- Clean driver's abstract
- Criminal record check

Important Availability Requirement

This is a 100% on-call, weather-dependent position during the winter season.

Applicants must be prepared for call-outs at various times, including overnight and early-morning hours. For example, a snow event could require a 2:00 AM or 11:00 PM call-out, depending on weather conditions.
