KW Personal Training
Kitchener
Job Overview
Are you the kind of trainer who listens first?
KW Personal Training is a small, private personal-training studio in Kitchener focused on helping women 40+ become stronger, healthier and more confident as they age.
We're looking for a newly certified or early-career personal trainer who wants to build their skills in a supportive, professional environment — and who believes that excellent personal training is about much more than making someone sweat.
You might be exactly the person we're looking for if you:
-Truly listen to your clients rather than simply telling them what to do
-Are warm, patient and naturally empathetic
-Understand that pain, injuries and limitations need to be respected
-Know that two clients can do the same exercise very differently
-Are comfortable working with women in their 40s, 50s and beyond
-Can communicate clearly and confidently in English
-Are curious about the why behind exercise and movement
-Would rather help someone build confidence than intimidate them
-Understand that “harder” isn't always “better”
-Want to develop into an exceptional trainer rather than simply collect clients
You DON'T need years of experience.
In fact, we're particularly interested in someone who is newly certified and eager to learn.
If you have the right personality and approach, I can help you develop your practical coaching skills, learn how to work with a wide variety of bodies and abilities, and become confident working independently with clients.
What makes our studio different?
This is a private, boutique training environment, not a busy commercial gym.
Our clients aren't there to be yelled at, pushed beyond their limits or made to feel like they're failing.
They're often women who have spent years putting everyone else first.
They may be dealing with old injuries, changing bodies, menopause-related changes, or simply realizing that they want to get stronger and age well.
If you believe personal training should actually feel personal, you'll probably understand our philosophy immediately.
The person we're hoping to meet
You may be newly certified, returning to work after another career, or simply looking for a meaningful second career in fitness.
You don't have to be the loudest person in the gym, look like a fitness model, or know everything, but you do need to care about people
If you are the kind of person who notices when a client is uncomfortable, asks another question instead of making an assumption, and gets genuinely excited when someone achieves something they couldn't do six months ago, we'd love to hear from you.
What we offer
Private one-on-one training workplace
Supportive, collaborative studio owner
Opportunity to develop your coaching skills
Primarily women 40+ clientele
A calm, professional and welcoming atmosphere
Opportunity to build a consistent client schedule as the studio grows
Potential for increasing hours and responsibility over time
This is an opportunity to grow with a small business rather than simply rent space in a gym.

Send us your resume and a short note telling us:
Why did you become a personal trainer, and what do you believe makes someone a truly great trainer?
We'd much rather read a thoughtful paragraph from you than a generic cover letter.
This position will remain open until the right candidate is found.
