Amaya Express is a takeout Indian food spot in Conestoga Mall, Waterloo, serving authentic, flavourful dishes to a growing base of loyal customers.

1) Server (Full Time / Part Time)

The Role
We’re hiring a Server to be the face at our takeout counter. This is a front-of-house role focused on customer service. Our Cooks run the kitchen, so you can focus on guests. Knowledge of Indian food is an asset, but we’ll train you on the menu.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers and serve buffet dishes, snacks, and takeout orders
- Take orders accurately (in person, phone, and online) and handle payments
- Help customers choose dishes and answer questions on spice levels, ingredients, and allergens
- Keep the buffet line and front counter clean, stocked, and well presented
- Follow food safety standards and Waterloo Region health regulations
- Coordinate with the kitchen team during busy mall hours
- Help with light restocking and flag low supplies to chef

What We’re Looking For

- Friendly, outgoing, and reliable
- Customer service or food service experience preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with Indian food is an asset
- Food handler certification is an asset
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

2) Cook (Part Time):

The Role




We’re hiring a Cook to assist our chef and handle the kichen in Chef's absence. This is a role focused on cooking and food quality. Our Servers handle the counter, so you can focus on the food. If you know the tandoor and the basics of Indian curries, we’ll teach you the rest.

Responsibilities

- Operate the tandoor / clay oven to prepare naans/breads
- Prepare curries and other menu items following our recipes (training will be provided)
- Keep the kitchen and buffet stocked so service stays smooth
- Follow food safety standards and keep the kitchen / equipment clean and organized
- Work with Servers during peak mall hours

What We’re Looking For

- Required: Tandoor / clay oven experience
- Required: Basic knowledge of Indian curries
- Everything else, including our recipes and menu, will be taught on the job
- Food handler certification is an asset
