About the Position

We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and safety-conscious Sidewalk Tractor & Plow Operator to join our snow removal team in the Oshawa area.

The successful candidate will operate a sidewalk tractor equipped with a snow plow to clear sidewalks, pedestrian walkways, building entrances, and other designated areas during winter weather events. The role is essential to maintaining safe and accessible properties for pedestrians, tenants, customers, and visitors.

This is an on-call position requiring availability during snowstorms and other winter weather events, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be dependable, comfortable working outdoors in challenging winter conditions, and able to respond to call-outs and arrive at the designated work site within one hour of being called.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate a sidewalk tractor equipped with a snow plow to clear sidewalks, walkways, entrances, and other assigned pedestrian areas.
- Remove snow efficiently while maintaining protected and accessible pedestrian routes.
- Operate equipment carefully around buildings, curbs, landscaping, parked vehicles, pedestrians, and other obstacles.
- Respond promptly to call-outs during snowstorms and winter weather events.
- Arrive at designated work sites within one hour of being called.
- Perform pre-operation equipment inspections and report mechanical issues or maintenance concerns.
- Adjust plowing techniques to accommodate changing snow conditions, narrow pathways, slopes, and confined areas.
- Apply additional snow and ice control measures when instructed and authorized.
- Follow site-specific instructions, company procedures, and applicable safety requirements.




- Maintain communication with the Operations Manager regarding site conditions, completed work, and equipment concerns.
- Report incidents, property damage, hazards, or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Maintain reliable attendance and work all required scheduled shifts throughout the snow removal season.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Previous experience operating a sidewalk tractor, compact tractor, or similar snow removal equipment.
- Experience operating a tractor equipped with a snow plow is strongly preferred.
- Experience with commercial snow removal and winter property maintenance is an asset.
- Valid Ontario G-class driver's licence and a satisfactory driving record.
- Reliable personal transportation to designated work sites.
- Ability to respond to call-outs and arrive at the designated work site within one hour.
- Availability for overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during snow events.
- Strong awareness of equipment safety and pedestrian hazards.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to completing assigned work safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in cold temperatures, snow, ice, and adverse weather conditions.

Weekly Pay Guarantee

Receive pay for 16 hours per week at your regular hourly rate during designated standby periods.



Hours worked during call-outs count toward the initial 16-hour weekly pay threshold. Additional hours and applicable overtime will be handled in accordance with the employment terms and Ontario employment standards.

$2,000 Season-End Attendance Bonus

Earn a $2,000 bonus at the end of the snow removal season by attending and working all required scheduled shifts. This bonus recognizes operators who demonstrate reliability, commitment, and consistent attendance throughout the winter season.

Schedule & Availability

This is an on-call position, with work dependent on snowfall, weather conditions, and operational requirements.

The successful candidate must:

- Remain available during assigned standby periods.
- Be prepared to work overnight, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Respond to call-outs and arrive at the designated work site within one hour.
- Maintain reliable attendance throughout the snow removal season.
