The Employment Specialists, a leading staffing and placement agency in the Lower Mainland is seeking a motivated and skilled Excavator Operator to join the team of one of our esteemed clients. In this role, you will be responsible for operating excavators and other heavy equipment such as a baler in a metal recycling yard. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality results on time and within scope.

Duties

- Operate excavators safely and efficiently in a dedicated recycling yard
- Assist with the operation of related heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, abd balers
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot issues, and optimize workflow
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, maintenance needs, and project progress for accountability and reporting purposes

Requirements





- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation principles
- Mechanical knowledge related to excavator components, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Ability to operate additional machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Caterpillar (CAT) and Liebherr machinery or similar brands preferred
- Experience in a metal recycling facility is an asset
- Robust communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
