We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Occupational Safety Coordinator (NCSO) for a demolition project in Abercrobmie, Nova Scotia. Due to the high risk nature of the site and job, we require a field-ready proffessional who can immediately manage in office compliance, hazard assessments, and safety coordination. As a Construction/Safety Coordinator, you will oversee daily construction activities, coordinate safety initiatives, and promote a culture of safety excellence across all project phases. Your energetic approach will help drive project success while maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
Duties
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, enforce safety policies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near-miss investigations, inspections, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
- Facilitate safety training sessions for new and existing team members to promote awareness and best practices in construction/demolition safety.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction/demolition environments with a strong understanding of construction processes and site management.
- Valid certification as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or equivalent safety certification demonstrating expertise in workplace safety standards.
- Intermediate First Aid required (Advanced preffered)
- Regulatory Knowledge: deep familiarity with the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act and provincial construction/demolition regulations.
- Hazardous Materials Competency: Practical experience overseeing silica dust suppression and control.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
- Physical ability to perform site inspections that may involve walking, climbing, or inspecting confined spaces.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
