Job Purpose & Responsibilities
This is a 6-month term position with the Infrastructure Services department.
Reporting to the Roads Foreman, this position is responsible for:
- Conducting minor maintenance and repair of City streets and properties.
- Using a variety of heavy equipment for road repair and maintenance, including sanding, snow removal, grading, and street sweeping.
- Maintaining traffic signage, lights and street lines.
- Conducting vehicle checklists and maintaining accurate log sheets.
Qualifications & Competencies
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Class 3 Operator’s Licence with Q endorsement.
- Equipment Operator training.
- 2 years’ experience in construction,
repair and maintenance of roads in a municipal or other government setting is a great asset.
- Satisfactory Driver's Abstract.
More Details
The hours of work for this position are 40 hours a week with a rotating schedule including weekdays, weekends, day shifts and evenings. The wage for this position is $34.78 per hour.
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
