Southbrook Retirement Residence is looking for a Temporary Full time Dishwasher. Hours; 8am to 3pm

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all dishware, silverware, cookware and glassware while also ensuring all kitchen equipment and surfaces are kept clean, sanitized and operational. The dishwasher assists in maintaining a safe environment for the culinary department.

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Must be willing to work should the facility go into outbreak
- Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwasher or by hand
- Loads and unloads dishwasher
- Places clean dishes, utensils and cooking equipment in storage areas
- Cleans and sanitizes dishwasher mats, dish carts and dish racks
- Maintains kitchen equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition (blenders, refrigerators, dishwasher, work table surfaces, stoves, ovens, grills, exhaust hood, etc.)
- Clean/washes floors and walls in the kitchen area
- Empties and cleans all waste containers and transports garbage to designated areas
- Maintains utility and storage rooms in a tidy and sanitary condition
- Responsible for stocking supplies and products
- Safely handles and stores cleaning products
- performs cleaning duties according to established procedures and follows cleaning schedule
- Must follow infection prevention and control precautions




- Must follow health and safety guidelines

The ideal candidate will possess:

- Previous experience in a retirement residence, long term care residence or hospitality industry is an asset
- Completion of secondary school education or equivalent
- Must be able to operate related equipment
- Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be a team player
- Must be personable with excellent work ethic
- Must be customer service orientated
- Work requires standing for extended periods of time, repetitive lifting and carrying of objects of 40 lbs.

Qualifications:

- Must have empathy for and ability to get along with seniors
- Ability to understand and follow proper food handling and storage procedures
- The ability to work accurately and quickly
- Must have a police check including Vulnerable Sector Screen
- Must have TB screening
- Must be willing to get the annual influenza vaccine
- Frequent lifting up to 40 lbs
- Exposure to heat and temperature fluctuations
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to routinely lift, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks
- Able to push and pull carts
- Able to take direction and remain calm under pressure while working in a face paced setting

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: From $18.37 per hour

Expected hours: 32.5 per week
