Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced contract Supervisor to join our team covering a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience. As a Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and contribute to the overall day-to-day operations of the childcare centre.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train and supervise staff.
- Communicate with families and other professionals in the field via phone and email.
- Assist in resolving any concerns from staff and/or families.
- Manage enrollment processes, parent inquiries and waitlists.
- Manage and update files as necessary.
- Assist in payment processes.
- Assist in laundry duties.
- Assist in cooking, cleaning and grocery lists.
- Ability to conduct tours of the centre.
- Ability to supervise effectively while fostering teamwork among staff members.
- Organizing supply staff.
- Complete monthly safety checks and fire drills.
- Complete monthly newsletters for families.
- Complete payroll on a biweekly schedule.
- Be a designate for Ottawa Public Health and Ministry of Education visits and ensure compliance.
- Conduct mandatory compliance surveys and paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Experience
- Experience in management or supervisory role is required.
- Experience as an RECE working with children 12 months to 5 years of age required.
- Strong leadership, initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Payroll basic knowledge is considered an asset.
- Experience using Google Sheets, Google Docs and Adobe Acrobat is considered an asset.
- Experience using waitlists is considered an asset.
- Food Handler Certificate and experience working in a kitchen are considered an asset.
Pay: $27.00-$28.00 per hour
