Job Summary:

Ticket & Rental Agents are often one of the first faces guests see when they arrive at Mount Washington Alpine Resort, helping set the tone for an awesome day on the mountain.

Working primarily in the ticket windows and Bradley Building, Ticket & Rental Agents spend their day helping guests purchase tickets, rentals, and other resort products, answering questions, and finding the options that best fit their plans. Whether it’s helping a first-time visitor figure out where to start, getting a family set up with rentals, or solving an unexpected issue, Agents play an important role in getting guests ready to enjoy their day.

This is a fast-paced, guest-facing role where no two days are quite the same. Success means being knowledgeable, friendly, detail-oriented, and able to stay calm and helpful when things get busy. Most importantly, Ticket & Rental Agents help guests feel confident, prepared,

and excited to get out and enjoy the mountain.

Role Responsibilities:

- Provide friendly, skilled, and knowledgeable service to guests, creating a positive and efficient experience from arrival through departure.
- Assist guests with tickets, rentals, activities, and general resort information, answering questions and providing clear and accurate guidance.
- Assess guest needs and recommend appropriate products, services, rentals, and upgrades that provide value to the guest.
- Sell and process lift tickets, rentals, and other resort products accurately and efficiently using the resort's POS and Axess systems.
- Assist with ticketing functions, including RFID cards, ticket loading, product activation, and resolving basic ticketing issues.
- Process rental bookings and check-ins, ensuring guests receive appropriate equipment and complete all required information, waivers, and documentation.
- Maintain current product knowledge, including pricing, availability, operating hours, policies, promotions, and resort activities.
- Operate POS, payment, and cash-handling systems accurately, including completing required reconciliation and following procedures for payments, refunds, exchanges, and adjustments.
- Identify and report transaction discrepancies, system issues, or guest concerns and escalate matters to a Supervisor when appropriate.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with Sales, Rentals, Snow School, and other departments to support a seamless guest experience.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas and assist with daily operational tasks, including stocking supplies and general housekeeping.
- Follow all resort policies, procedures,

safety standards, and security requirements, while adapting to changing priorities and supporting the team during periods of high guest volume.

Qualifications:

- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to interact confidently and professionally with a wide variety of guests.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing transactions.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and solutions-focused during busy or challenging situations.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn POS and ticketing systems quickly.
- Dependable, approachable, and comfortable working as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for skiing & snowboarding or a willingness to learn.
- Scheduling flexibility, including availability for weekends, holidays, and changing operational needs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout a shift and work in a busy retail/guest service environment.

Assets:

- Previous guest service, retail, hospitality, tourism, or sales experience.
- Previous experience with POS, ticketing, or rental systems.
- Ski industry or resort experience.
- Knowledge of skiing, snowboarding, or other winter recreation.
- Previous rental or equipment experience.

Resort Conditions:

Working at a Winter Resort means no two days are the same—and that's part of the adventure! You’ll get to experience a variety of unique locations, from cozy lodges to scenic mountain-top venues only accessible by chairlift. Be prepared to embrace the elements; whether it's bluebird skies, fresh snowfall, or the infamous coastal rain. Expect to navigate multi-level lodges, steep stairways, and outdoor areas where the terrain can be sloped, snowy, or slippery, so good footwear is essential, indoors and out. Walking through large, icy parking lots is also part of the daily journey. If you love fresh air, stunning views, and a workplace that keeps you on your toes, this is the spot for you!
