Quantum is seeking an experienced Welder to join our custom steel fabrication team. We’re looking for a self-motivated, safety-conscious individual who takes pride in producing quality work.
In this role, you will fabricate metal components using a variety of welding techniques. You will read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, work to specified requirements, and ensure completed work meets quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate brings strong welding and fabrication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is a full-time position for the day shift.
Duties
- Perform MIG welding and tacking of plate and structural steel.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Fit, assemble, and weld components to job specifications.
- Inspect completed work for weld quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Use fabrication tools and equipment safely.
- Operate material handling equipment as trained and authorized.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist teammates as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in welding (MIG and TIG), fabrication, or related manufacturing roles.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of welding procedures, materials, and equipment.
- CWB certification and weld symbol knowledge are assets.
- Overhead crane, rigging, and fitting experience are assets. Forklift certification is a plus.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
- Dependability, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work well with others.
