Overview

We are looking for a reliable, skilled, and resourceful handy person to assist with general maintenance and repairs at our two dog daycare locations in Burlington and Milton.

This is an as-needed position, not a weekly or regularly scheduled role. We are looking for someone who can be contacted when maintenance issues arise and who is available to complete repairs and general upkeep as required.

Responsibilities

- Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout both daycare facilities.
- Address minor plumbing, electrical-related maintenance, carpentry, and hardware issues within the scope of your qualifications.
- Repair doors, gates, locks, hinges, shelving, and other fixtures.
- Complete minor painting, drywall repairs, and touch-ups.
- Maintain and repair fencing, playroom equipment, and other facility features as needed.
- Identify potential maintenance or safety concerns and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe, and free of hazards for staff, clients, and dogs.
- Travel between our Milton and Burlington locations as required.

Qualifications

- Previous handyman,



maintenance, or general repair experience.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Reliable, organized, and responsive when maintenance needs arise.
- Own tools and reliable transportation.
- Ability to assess repair needs and determine when a licensed professional is required.
- Experience working in commercial facilities or around animals is an asset.
- Appropriate licensing and insurance for any contracted work, where applicable

Position Details

- Work is assigned on an as-needed basis, depending on maintenance requirements.
- No weekly hours or guaranteed schedule.
- Flexible availability and the ability to respond to requests within a reasonable timeframe are preferred.
- Work will take place at our Milton and Burlington dog daycare locations.
- Compensation will be discussed based on experience, scope of work, and whether work is billed hourly or per project.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 10.0 per week
