We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Produce/Grocery Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust commitment to customer service, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for fresh produce and grocery products. As a Produce/Grocery Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining product quality, ensuring a clean and organized shopping setting, and providing exceptional assistance to our customers. Responsibilities
Stock shelves with fresh produce and grocery items, ensuring products are properly labeled and organized for easy customer access.
Monitor inventory levels regularly and communicate with management to reorder stock as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the produce and grocery areas, including cleaning displays, floors, and equipment.
Assist customers with product selection, answer questions about store offerings, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
Operate cash registers efficiently while processing transactions accurately and handling customer payments securely.
Ensure proper handling of produce by following safety guidelines to prevent spoilage or contamination.
Use pallet jack when necessary for moving heavy or bulk items safely and efficiently.
Support merchandising efforts by creating attractive displays that promote sales and seasonal promotions.
Skills
Proven experience in retail sales or grocery store environments with a focus on customer service.
Solid communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer populations effectively.
Knowledge of merchandising techniques to enhance product presentation and sales.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and maintain sanitation standards consistently.
Experience with cashiering systems for processing transactions accurately.
Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus for handling large or heavy stock items safely.
Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels, product rotation, and store cleanliness efficiently.
