Title: Collections Representative Location: Toronto, ON/Hybrid Duration: 06+ Months This role focuses on handling bankruptcies, consumer proposals, and credit counseling within the Late Stage Collections line of business.
The position requires analyzing financial statements, determining business liability, and applying relevant legislation to maximize recovery of assets and other insolvency proceedings.
Required Skills & Qualifications: At least 1 year of direct Insolvency experience Minimum 1-2 years of experience from Canadian Financial Institutions in the field of Bankruptcy and Insolvency Administrative Department Minimum 1-2 years of Collections experience recovering Canadian banking products like Credit card, Personal Line of Credits, Overdraft, Small business Credit Card and Line of Credits, etc.
Basic knowledge of Canadian Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and understands how to read Statement of Affairs and the requirement for filing Proof of Claim(s) Self-reliant, punctual, and possesses strong written/verbal communication skills Collaboration & team skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and detail-oriented Knowledge of federal, state/provincial and local laws pertaining to Consumer Collections and functional area Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Knowledge of trustee/vendor platforms Previous analyst/problem-solving skills Bilingual French/English Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Assess the financial situation of individuals or businesses to determine the appropriate course of action Prepare and submit necessary documentation relating to insolvency procedures Keep up to date with changes in insolvency law and practice Establish expertise with Consumer Collections personnel as a key support contact/resource/coach Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations Escalate complex or unresolved customer situations to managers as required Complete required documentation to ensure customer’s requests are accurately processed Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness Deliver exceptional customer service that builds trust through expertise, responsive service, and support Follow documented policies and procedures to execute transactions, activities, and processes Maintain current knowledge of collections strategies, practices, and trends Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing changes to make processes more effective and effective For immediate consideration please click APPLY to begin the screening process with Alex.
