SME Commercial Team Lead

Toronto, ON | Hybrid | Full Time, Permanent

$85,000 to $125,000 + Variable Compensation & Performance Bonus

Hello World Recruitment, founded by Jeremy Corbet, is working with an established Canadian insurance brokerage to recruit an experienced SME Commercial Team Lead in Toronto.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Commercial Lines professional who enjoys working with clients, supporting brokers, and helping develop a team.

You will act as a senior resource for the Commercial team while managing a book of SME commercial clients. The role combines team leadership, commercial account management, risk placement, client service, and business development.

What We’re Looking For

Active RIBO license in good standing

Minimum 3 years of Commercial Insurance Brokerage experience

Minimum 3 years of Team Lead experience

Strong understanding of Commercial Lines insurance and risk placement

Strong client service and relationship management skills

Strong business acumen with a sales-oriented approach

Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple commercial placements and priorities

Robust organizational and time management skills

Experience with EPIC / Applied Systems is an asset





Knowledge of specialty products such as Cyber, D&O;, E&O; is an asset

CAIB, CIP, CRM, or other insurance designations are an asset

What You’ll Be Doing

Provide senior-level support and guidance to Commercial SME Risk Placement Brokers

Manage escalations and help resolve complex client and placement issues

Mentor and support the development of team members

Manage and service a portfolio of commercial insurance clients

Work closely with Sales, Producers, and Senior Account Managers

Review client exposures and identify coverage gaps

Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities

Structure and negotiate insurance programs for commercial clients

Support complex placements and multi-line commercial accounts
