A prominent Bay Street law firm in Toronto is seeking a skilled

Commercial Litigation Lawyer (2–6 years’ call)

to join its highly regarded litigation and dispute resolution group. This opportunity is tailored to a lawyer with solid experience in complex commercial litigation, securities disputes, and regulatory proceedings who is looking to elevate their practice within an elite platform.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to sophisticated, high-value matters involving corporate litigation, securities enforcement, capital markets disputes, and regulatory investigations.

Position Overview Working closely with leading litigators, you will act on intricate commercial disputes, shareholder conflicts (including oppression remedy claims), securities class actions, capital markets litigation, and proceedings before the Ontario Securities Commission and other regulatory tribunals.

You will be involved in all stages of the litigation lifecycle—from early case assessment and pleadings to contested motions, hearings, trials, and negotiated settlements. The role provides meaningful advocacy experience, strategic case involvement, and direct interaction with corporate clients, boards, and financial institutions.

Responsibilities

Manage and support complex commercial and securities litigation files

Draft pleadings, affidavits,



motion materials, factums, and written advocacy

Conduct advanced legal research and develop litigation strategy

Appear before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Court of Appeal, and administrative tribunals

Advise clients on regulatory compliance, enforcement risk, and dispute resolution strategy

Assist with internal investigations and regulatory responses

Mentor junior associates and contribute to team development

Candidate Requirements

2–6 years of post-call experience in commercial or corporate litigation

Experience in securities litigation, capital markets disputes, regulatory enforcement, or white-collar defence strongly preferred

Demonstrated advocacy skills and comfort with courtroom appearances

Exceptional drafting ability and analytical precision

Robust strategic judgment and client-facing capabilities

Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
