This role at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health offers the chance to support youth aged 13-24 in inpatient settings. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will focus on client-centered psychiatric care, including care plan development and medication administration.
Your skills in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct mental status assessments for adolescent clients
- Develop and implement personalized care plans
- Administer medications and monitor treatment responses
- Support family involvement and education efforts
- Engage in evidence-based care discussions and evaluations
Requirements:
- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BScN required; psychiatric nursing certification preferred
- 3 years of nursing experience with adolescents
- Strong crisis prevention and intervention skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
