Teddy Bear Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and collaborative Assistant Supervisor to support the day-to-day operations of our childcare centre.

The Assistant Supervisor will work closely with the Supervisor, other educators, and children and families, to help maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive and high-quality learning environment. The role provides an opportunity for an experienced RECE to take on additional leadership responsibilities while continuing to contribute to the classroom program.

The Assistant Supervisor will work with the Supervisor to develop the skills and experience to potentially become a Supervisor if the opportunity becomes available.

The Assistant Supervisor assists the Supervisor with:

- Coordinate centre events, including staff meetings and family events
- Support with the preparation and completion of staff schedules
- Acting as a positive role model and providing leadership and guidance to all staff, including placement students and supply teachers




- Support a team-oriented team environment and contributing positively to the centre’s culture
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the centre, as needed

The successful candidate will need to be/have:

- A Registered Early Childhood Educator qualification and currently in Good Standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Have a minimum of two year experience working in a licensed childcare setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development and high quality early learning practices
- Knowledge of Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT), How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH), as well as other documents
- Demonstrate strong communication, organizations, and interpersonal skills
- Have the ability to provide positive leadership and work effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrate sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately

Pay: $26.00 per hour
