Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 flatbed trucks for long-haul or local deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Secure and inspect freight on flatbeds, ensuring proper load distribution and stability during transit
- Use forklifts or other heavy equipment to load and unload cargo efficiently and safely
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic automotive repairs when necessary, and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate schedules and resolve any delivery issues quickly
- Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including freight handling and inventory management
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (Commercial Driver’s License) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed trucks or heavy equipment operation
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and securing loads on flatbeds
- Basic automotive repair skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road
