Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Pipe Layer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground water and municipal infrastructure. This role will involve working on water main installation and repairs, fire hydrants, valves, water services, and other civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with underground pipe installation, trench work, pipe bedding, grading, and municipal water infrastructure, along with a strong understanding of construction procedures and job-site safety.

Duties

- Install, repair, and replace underground water mains, water services, fire hydrants, valves, and related municipal infrastructure
- Perform trench preparation, pipe bedding, pipe laying, grading, backfilling, and compaction
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and utility layouts
- Ensure proper pipe alignment, elevation, grade, and connections throughout installation
- Perform water main repairs, including removing damaged sections and installing replacement pipe, fittings, and components
- Work safely around existing underground utilities, open excavations, heavy equipment, and traffic-control areas
- Work closely with excavator operators, labourers, supervisors, and other crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently
- Follow all company, municipal,



and occupational health and safety requirements
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas and assist with general civil construction duties as required
- Participate in emergency and after-hours water main and infrastructure repairs when required

Requirements

- 2-4 years of experience in civil pipe laying or underground utility construction
- Hands-on experience with water main installation, repair, and maintenance
- Experience with trenching, pipe bedding, grading, pipe installation, and backfilling
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and utility layouts
- Knowledge of underground utilities and safe excavation practices
- Robust understanding of civil construction and job-site safety
- Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding work
- Valid G Driver's Licence
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and dependable
