We're looking for an Experienced Garage Door Technician to join our team who combines strong technical ability with customer service skills, sales confidence, and a drive to succeed.

Why This Role Exists The Experienced Garage Door Technician role exists to deliver high-quality residential garage door service, repairs, and installations while providing an exceptional customer experience and identifying opportunities to offer customers the right products and solutions.

This is a hands-on field position for someone with approximately two years of garage door industry experience who can work independently, diagnose problems, communicate confidently with homeowners, and take ownership of each job from start to finish.

Sales is an important part of this role. We're looking for someone who understands that great service goes beyond fixing what's broken. It means educating customers, presenting options, recommending appropriate repairs or upgrades, and confidently asking for the sale.

Technicians are accountable for both their technical performance and their ability to meet customer service, sales, and productivity expectations.

What You'll Do

Residential Service &

- Installation

- Independently complete residential garage door service, repairs, and installations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot garage doors, openers, springs, cables, hardware, and related equipment.
- Install residential garage doors, garage door openers, and accessories.
- Identify underlying issues and recommend safe, reliable, long-term solutions.
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining Canadoor's workmanship and safety standards.
- Take ownership of every job from arrival through successful completion.

Customer Service &

- Sales

- Follow Canadoor's 5-Star Service &
- Sales Process on every customer interaction.
- Build trust and rapport with homeowners through professional, friendly communication.
- Assess customer needs and identify opportunities for repairs, replacements, upgrades, and additional products.
- Present customers with clear options and explain the benefits and value of each recommendation.
- Confidently recommend and sell appropriate products and services.
- Provide accurate quotes, address customer questions, and ask for the sale.
- Work toward established sales targets, including average ticket, close rate, and other performance KPIs.
- Balance sales performance with honesty, integrity, and the customer's best interests.

This is a service AND sales position.

Daily Operations &

- Accountability

- Meet established technical, customer service, sales, and productivity KPIs.
- Complete work orders, track time, and document job details accurately in ServiceTitan.
- Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and qualified company vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with Dispatch, Field Supervisors, and the office throughout the day.
- Follow company policies, safety regulations, and traffic laws.
- Take responsibility for the quality of your work, customer satisfaction, and individual performance.
- Participate in ongoing technical, customer service, and sales training.

Qualifications

- Approximately 2 years of garage door service and installation experience preferred.
- Experience diagnosing, repairing, and installing residential garage door systems.
- Experience with garage door openers, springs, cables, tracks, and hardware.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to independently complete common residential service and installation jobs.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable recommending products, presenting quotes, and closing sales.
- Previous sales experience or demonstrated success selling products and services is a strong asset.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools and working on ladders.
- Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment.
- Experience using ServiceTitan or similar field service software is an asset.

Compensation

Base Pay: $28/hour Performance Pay: Opportunity to earn up to $50/hour in total compensation based on performance. At Canadoor, we believe strong performance should be rewarded.

In addition to your guaranteed hourly base rate, you'll have the opportunity to increase your earnings through performance pay tied to results.

This position includes a significant sales and KPI component. Technicians who consistently deliver excellent workmanship, provide outstanding customer service, identify and close appropriate sales opportunities, and meet performance expectations have the potential to earn toward the top of the compensation range.

Performance earnings are not guaranteed and depend on individual results and the applicable performance pay program.
