Job Title: QA Lead – Payments Domain

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced QA Lead – Payments to direct and execute our quality assurance strategy across core payment processing platforms, payment gateways, and banking rails. In this role, you will lead end-to-end testing strategy, test automation, defect management, and compliance validation for complex payment workflows.

Responsibilities

- Define and drive the overall QA strategy, test approach, and master test plans for payment processing applications and integrated banking interfaces.
- Lead and mentor onsite and offshore testing teams, setting performance standards and tracking testing metrics/KPIs.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and System Architects to review functional/non-functional requirements and user stories.
- Oversee test execution across functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, security, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) cycles.
- Validate complex end-to-end payment lifecycles, including transaction authorization, clearing,



settlement, and chargebacks.
- Establish and scale test automation frameworks for APIs and web/mobile UI interfaces using modern frameworks.
- Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines for automated continuous testing in pre-production environments.

Mandatory Skills

- 8 years of total software quality engineering experience with at least 3 years in a Lead or Principal QA capacity.
- Deep understanding of retail/commercial payment processing and payment gateways.
- Hands-on proficiency with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured) and database querying (SQL).
- Solid test automation experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript with tools like Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Test Management and Agile tools (Jira, Xray, Zephyr).
- Robust risk-based testing mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills.
