Who are we?
Organika is a premium Canadian health and wellness company based in Vancouver, BC. For more than 35 years, we have helped people live healthier, happier lives through innovative natural health products backed by quality, trust, and science.
As pioneers in the wellness industry, we believe everyone should have access to effective natural health solutions. From award-winning supplements to innovative wellness products, we're committed to setting the highest standards in quality while putting our customers at the heart of everything we do.
Today, Organika products are trusted by consumers across Canada and around the world, but our mission remains the same: to help people live healthier every day.
About the Role
Organika is seeking a commercially minded finance leader to embed financial discipline in customer planning and execution. This person will own the customer-level financial truth—from gross sales through discounts, rebates, promotions, returns, deductions and net contribution—and work directly with Sales to ensure growth plans are accurately funded, accrued, forecast and delivered.
This is the bridge between Finance and the field: close enough to the customer to understand the deal, independent enough to challenge it, and rigorous enough to make sure every commitment appears correctly in the P&L; and cash forecast. The role will be a core partner to the RGM Manager: RGM recommends the commercial move; Customer Finance confirms the economics, control and delivery.
About the Role
What you will own
- Customer P&Ls.; Own monthly profitability views by customer, channel, brand and SKU, including volume, price, mix, trade, freight, markdowns, deductions, cost-to-serve and contribution.
- Gross-to-net control. Build the GTN waterfall and forecast for discounts, rebates, promotions, returns, markdowns and customer programs; explain plan/forecast/actual variances and drive corrective action.
- Trade-spend governance. Maintain commitments, approvals, accruals and remaining-funds visibility; prevent unapproved or unfunded spend; monitor compliance with policies and audit requirements.
- Customer planning. Partner with account leaders on annual budgets, Joint Business Plans, new listings, distribution expansion, promotional calendars and customer negotiations.
- Deal economics.
Build and challenge investment cases, scenarios and paybacks for pricing, promotion, innovation, markdowns and customer requests before Organika commits.
- Forecasting and close. Provide accurate customer and trade inputs to rolling forecasts and month-end close; improve accrual quality and ensure late deductions are captured and corrected.
- Deductions and claims. Establish aging, ownership and root-cause routines for deductions, claims and disputes; partner with AR, Sales and customers to accelerate resolution and protect cash.
- Sales enablement. Train customer teams to read customer P&Ls;, understand net revenue and contribution, and use financial guardrails in day-to-day decisions.
- Systems and data. Strengthen TPM data, master-data discipline, reporting automation and reconciliation between commercial tools and the general ledger.
Costco priority:
- Own the end-to-end Costco P&L; and monthly bridge from gross sales to net contribution.
- Track permanent items, rotations, markdowns, rebates, freight, deductions and customer commitments against plan and latest estimate.
- Give Sales a live view of available funding and the margin impact of each proposed program before commitments are made.
- Partner with RGM on scenario modelling and with Accounting on accrual accuracy, deduction aging and cash impact.
- Surface risks early—with quantified exposure, owner, corrective action and decision deadline.
Skills & Experience
- 6–9 years of progressive finance experience, including meaningful Sales Finance, Customer Finance or Commercial Finance work in CPG, food, beverage, consumer health or retail.
- Strong experience with trade spend, gross-to-net, customer profitability, forecasting, accruals and deductions; comfortable working from transaction detail through executive summary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; CPA is preferred but not required for a candidate with exceptional CPG commercial-finance depth.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; Power BI or similar visualization experience. ERP and TPM/TPO experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to challenge constructively and hold a commercial line while preserving trust with Sales and customers.
- Strong accounting and controls foundation combined with a practical, growth-oriented mindset.
- Clear communicator who can translate finance into choices and actions for non-finance leaders.
- Experience with Costco, Amazon, mass, drug or grocery accounts is an asset; club economics and deduction complexity are especially valuable.
