Role Description The Mortgage Agent will meet with clients to assess their financial situation, explain mortgage options, and recommend suitable products. Daily responsibilities include gathering and reviewing documentation, submitting applications, and coordinating with lenders, underwriters, and other stakeholders to ensure timely approvals and closings. The role also involves prospecting and following up with leads, maintaining relationships with referral partners,
and staying current with industry regulations and lender policies.
The Mortgage
Agent will participate in brokerage-provided training, coaching, and meetings to continuously develop skills and stay aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry, including current trends, products, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with mortgage servicing and managing client files from application through funding.
- Solid understanding of mortgages and mortgage lending processes, including credit assessment and risk evaluation.
- Skills in mortgage marketing, lead generation, and client relationship management.
- Valid Mortgage Agent or Broker license in Ontario (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency with common office software and mortgage-related systems.
- Proven ability to work in a target-driven environment and manage multiple client files simultaneously.
