- Write Python code to read and interpret digital inspection requirement files in various formats such as XML, YAML, CSV, TXT, etc.
- Write Python code to convert these requirements into standardized objects within commercial metrology software such as GOM and PolyWorks.
- Write Python code to export inspection results from commercial metrology software into Excel reports and dashboards.
- Be familiar with the standards and regulations governing part inspection.

What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, software engineering, automated production engineering, or a related field
- Advanced knowledge of Python, particularly the Pandas package and setting management tools such as venv and pip.
- Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical design and engineering drawing tolerancing; knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) is an asset.
- Skills in linear algebra, 3D geometry, and point cloud / STL file management; experience with metrology software (GOM and PolyWorks) is an asset.
- Skills in linear algebra, 3D geometry, and point cloud / STL file management; experience with metrology software (GOM and PolyWorks) is an asset.

Roles & Responsibilities Programmer – Aerospace Metrology Automation The position offered is a full-time assignment within the MB-DMI (Model-Based Definition, Manufacturing & Inspection) team, part of the Quality organization. The objective of MB-DMI, a transformation initiative, is to implement processes and technologies based on 3D modeling and automation, integrating them into product definition, manufacturing, and quality inspection activities. Cutting-edge technologies such as 3D scanning, high-precision CMMs, and others are leveraged as part of this transformation.

The initiative aims to significantly improve lead times, quality, costs, and engine performance. The selected candidate will be responsible for automating part inspection using 3D scanning, from interpreting engineering requirements to extracting measurement results from scanned parts. In addition, programming projects related to inspection plan generation tools, databases, or dashboard development may also be assigned.

The position is based onsite at Plant 1 in Longueuil, Quebec.
